Galaxy Tab Active 2 has a general score of 70, which is much better than the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1)'s 61.4 overall score. Although Galaxy Tab Active 2 is just a little thicker than the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), it's a lot lighter and also newer. These devices come with Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy Tab Active 2 has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has Android 4.1 version, so it gives you a couple nice extra features and performance improvements.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 counts with a bit better screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a way smaller display, and they both have the same 800 x 1280px resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 also counts with more pixels per inch in the display. Galaxy Tab Active 2 counts with a better performing CPU than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has a higher amount of RAM memory and a greater number of cores (and also faster).
Galaxy Tab Active 2 features a better camera than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has a way better 1920x1080 video quality and a lot higher 8 mega-pixels resolution back camera. Galaxy Tab Active 2 features a very superior storage capacity for games and applications than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has 8 GB more internal memory and a slot for external memory cards that supports up to 256 GB.
