Although Galaxy Tab Active 2 is just a little thicker than the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), it's a lot lighter and also newer. These devices come with Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy Tab Active 2 has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has Android 4.1 version, so it gives you a couple nice extra features and performance improvements.
