Comparison review
The Galaxy Tab Active has an overall score of 67, which is better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9's 58.1 overall score. Both of these tablets use Android operating system, but Galaxy Tab Active has a more recent 4.4 version and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0 version, so it provides the user a lot of extra features. The Galaxy Tab Active construction is way newer and lighter, but thicker than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9.
Samsung Galaxy Tab Active features a little bit better screen than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because although it has a little bit smaller display, and they both have the same exact 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active also counts with a just a little more pixels per inch in the display.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a superior memory to store more games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, because although it has no SD memory slot, it also counts with more internal storage capacity. The Galaxy Tab Active counts with a quite better hardware performance than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has an extra graphics co-processor and a larger number of faster cores.
The Galaxy Tab 8.9 has longer battery performance than Galaxy Tab Active, because it has 6000mAh of battery capacity instead of 4450mAh. Galaxy Tab Active has a superior camera than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 1280x720 video definition, the Galaxy Tab Active also has a higher 3.1 MP resolution camera in the back.
The Galaxy Tab Active costs a lot more money than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, but it's still a good choice, as you can get a lot more for that extra money.
