The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has a global score of 68.5, which is better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab's overall score of 58.6. Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9's body is notably newer and incredibly thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Tab's, although it's also just a little heavier. Both devices we are comparing here work with Android OS (Operating System), but Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has a newer 4.2.2 version and Samsung Galaxy Tab has Android 2.3.3 version, providing the user a couple nice extra features.

The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has an incredibly better screen than Galaxy Tab, because it has way more pixels per inch of display, a larger display and a much higher resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels. The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has a much greater processing power than Samsung Galaxy Tab, because it has a greater number of cores (and also faster), 1,5 GB more RAM and an extra graphics processing unit.

The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a very superior memory for applications and games than Galaxy Tab, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with more internal memory.

Samsung Galaxy Tab features a much better battery duration than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9.
