The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 has a general score of 65.1, which is much better than Galaxy Tab's overall score of 58.6. Although Microsoft Surface Pro 2 is much newer than Galaxy Tab, it is much heavier and somewhat thicker. The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 counts with Windows 8.1 Pro operating system, and Galaxy Tab works with Android 2.3.3 operating system.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 has a better processing unit than Galaxy Tab, because it has more RAM memory and more CPU cores. The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 counts with a little bit better display than Galaxy Tab, because it has a way larger display, a lot better 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and a bit better amount of pixels in each screen inch.

The Galaxy Tab takes much clearer photographs and videos than Microsoft Surface Pro 2. Both of them have the same 720x480 video quality and the same 30 fps video frame rates. The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 counts with a very superior memory for apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab, because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with 512 GB internal memory.
