Google Pixel Slate has a general score of 79.3, which is a little bit better than the Galaxy Tab S 8.4's 74.5 score. The Google Pixel Slate comes with Chrome OS OS, while Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has Android 4.4.2 OS. Google Pixel Slate's body is incredibly newer, but just a little bit thicker and extremely heavier than the Galaxy Tab S 8.4.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 counts with a much better looking display than Google Pixel Slate, because although it has a little worse resolution of 2560 x 1600px and a much smaller display, it also counts with a little bit more pixels per inch of display. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a little bit better performance than Google Pixel Slate, because although it has less RAM memory, it also counts with a higher number of cores.

Google Pixel Slate counts with a better camera than Galaxy Tab S 8.4. Both of them have the same 1920x1080 video quality, the same resolution back camera and the same video frame rates. The Google Pixel Slate has much more memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 256 GB internal storage.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 counts with a much better battery lifetime than Google Pixel Slate.

Although Google Pixel Slate is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Google Pixel Slate, else you can save some dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, giving up some features and specs.
