Comparison review

The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, getting a 75.8 score against 74.5. These tablets come with the same Android 4.4.2 OS. Although the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is a better portable tablet than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, we must tell that it's also an older, somewhat thicker and incredibly heavier portable tablet.

Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a bit better display than Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), because although it has a little smaller screen, and they both have the same exact resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 also counts with a bit better pixel density. The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) counts with a bit faster CPU than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because although it has 4 lesser CPU cores (although they are faster), and they both have a 3 GB RAM memory, the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) also counts with an extra graphics processor.

The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a bit more memory capacity to install games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), and although they both have equal internal storage, the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 also has a SD card slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a superior camera than Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014). They have the same video frame rates, the same video quality and a 8 mega-pixels resolution camera.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) features a much better battery duration than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because it has an 8220mAh battery capacity instead of 4900mAh.

Although Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is a better device, it costs a lot more than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy Tab S 8.4. If you want to save a few dollars, you can get Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and give up some specs and features, but you will get the most out of your budget.
