Both devices in this review use Android operating system, but Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has the newer 4.4.2 version while Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE has Android 4.0, giving you a lot of extra features and increased performance.
The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 counts with a quite better processing power than Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because it has a greater number of cores. Galaxy Tab S 8.4 counts with a much sharper screen than Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a lot more pixels per inch in the display and a much better resolution of 2560 x 1600px.
The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a much greater storage to install games and applications than Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because it has an external memory card slot that allows a maximum of 128 GB and 32 GB internal storage. Galaxy Tab S 8.4 captures way better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because it has a much better (Full HD) video quality and a much more mega-pixels camera.
