The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is a lot better than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, getting a 74.5 score against 57.6. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is an older tablet than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, but it's lighter and thinner anyway. Both of these devices include Android OS, but Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has the previous 4.4.2 version and Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has Android 6.0 Marshmallow version.
Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a better screen than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, because it has a little bit larger screen, a higher display density and a better 2560 x 1600 resolution. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a much better storage capacity for games and applications than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, and although they both have a SD card slot that admits up to 128 GB, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 also has more internal storage capacity.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a bit more powerful processor than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD. They have the same number of cores and the same RAM amount. Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD takes better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. Both have the same resolution back facing camera, the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and the same (Full HD) video definition.
The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD features a bit longer battery lifetime than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because it has a 4% bigger battery size.
