Samsung Galaxy Tab S3's body is newer and thinner than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7's, although it is a lot heavier. Both of these tablets come with Android operating system, but the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 has a more recent 9.0 Pie version while Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 has Android 4.2.2 version.
