Although Galaxy Tab S4 is a little heavier than the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, it's somewhat thinner and also newer. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 counts with a bit better screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because it has a lot higher quantity of pixels per inch of display, a larger screen and a much better 1600 x 2560px resolution.
