Galaxy Tab S5e is much better than Galaxy Note 8.0, with a global score of 78.6 against 69.2. Both tablets in this review include Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Tab S5e has the previous 10 version and Galaxy Note 8.0 has Android 4.4.2. Even though Galaxy Tab S5e is somewhat heavier than Galaxy Note 8.0, it's incredibly thinner and a lot newer.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has a bit more powerful processing unit than Galaxy Tab S5e, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM and a lower number of cores, it also counts with a graphics processor. The Galaxy Tab S5e counts with a little sharper screen than Galaxy Note 8.0, because it has a way higher resolution of 1600 x 2560, a much bigger display and a way better pixels count per display inch.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e features much more memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy Note 8.0, because it has a SD memory card expansion slot that allows up to 512 GB and 128 GB internal memory capacity. Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e captures way better photos and videos than Galaxy Note 8.0, because it has a much higher 13 mega-pixels resolution back-facing camera and a much higher 3840x2160 (4K) video definition.
The Galaxy Tab S5e has a way better battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, because it has a 7040mAh battery size.
Galaxy Tab S5e is a bit more expensive than the Galaxy Note 8.0, but you can get a better tablet for that few extra dollars.
