Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE has a global score of 63, which is much better than the Sony Tablet P's global score of 55.7. Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE's construction is newer and way thinner, but much heavier than Sony Tablet P. Both tablets in this review use Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE has a more recent 4.4.2 version and Sony Tablet P has Android 4.0.3, giving you a lot of extra features and improved performance.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE counts with just a little better hardware performance than Sony Tablet P, because it has 2 more processing cores and a larger amount of RAM. Sony Tablet P counts with a bit more vivid screen than Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE, because although it has a way worse 480 x 1024px resolution and a lot smaller display, it also counts with a higher quantity of pixels per display inch.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE counts with a very superior memory capacity for games and applications than Sony Tablet P, because it has 16 GB internal memory capacity and an external memory slot that allows a maximum of 64 GB. The Sony Tablet P features a much longer battery life than Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE shoots clearer pictures and videos than Sony Tablet P. Both of them have the same video frame rates, the same (HD) video resolution and a 5 megapixels resolution back camera.
Although Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Sony Tablet P, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Sony Tablet P. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Sony Tablet P, letting go a couple specifications.
