Comparison review

The Galaxy Tab Active has a general score of 66.9, which is much better than the Sony Tablet S's overall score of 56.3. The Galaxy Tab Active is a much newer tablet device, and it's also just a little bit thinner and way lighter than the Sony Tablet S. Both devices in this review use Android operating system, but Galaxy Tab Active has newer 4.4 version and Sony Tablet S has Android 4.0 version, so it provides a couple additional features.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Active counts with a little faster CPU than Sony Tablet S, because it has an extra GPU, a greater number of cores and more RAM. The Galaxy Tab Active has a sharper display than Sony Tablet S, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, and they both have an equal 1280 x 800 resolution, the Galaxy Tab Active also counts with a little bit higher display pixels density.

The Sony Tablet S takes just a bit better videos and photos than Galaxy Tab Active, and although they both have the same (HD) video quality and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Sony Tablet S also has a camera with a much better 5 mega pixels resolution. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active features just a bit more storage capacity for games and applications than Sony Tablet S, and although they both have equal internal memory capacity, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active also has an external memory slot that admits a maximum of 64 GB.

The Sony Tablet S counts with a bit longer battery duration than Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, because it has 5000mAh of battery capacity.

Despite of being the best tablet of the ones we compare here, the Galaxy Tab Active is also the cheapest, making it a very good choice.
