Samsung Galaxy Tab Active is a complete portable tablet released in 2014, provisioned with a 8-inches screen, an extremely fast Quad-Core processing unit running at 1200 megahertz, a 3.1 megapixels back camera and a 1.2 megapixels front side camera. That's everything we have to say? No, it's just the introduction of this extreme review.
Samsung appears to have forgotten about weight optimization in this 13 oz tablet device. This tablet is just 0.38 inches thick, making it one of the thinnest tablets you can find. Though the Tab Active only has 8.39" long and 4.97 inches wide, it is able to fit a a 8" screen.
Samsung designed this device with an average 8" screen, and a 1280 x 800 resolution, giving this tablet device a good image quality. This screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.
The Tab Active is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 8026 system chip, including a high performance Quad-Core processor clocking at 1200 megahertz and a big 1,5 GB RAM. Graphic rendering often consume a lot of processor cycles, so this tablet uses an extra 450 megahertz Adreno 305 GPU to take some work out of the CPU. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active has a 16 GB quite big internal storage memory and an SD extension slot, allowing the user to install a couple hundred games and apps without any problem.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active features two cameras, a 3.1 MP back camera and a 1.2 megapixels front facing camera. This tablet also films videos up to 1280x720 (HD) at 30 frames per second. To complete the camera, it also has some nice characteristics like auto-focus, flash and geo tagging.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active provides wifi connectivity (and it can be shared with other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot), LTE 4G high speed data connection and also HSPA+ connectivity, a lower speed 4G technology and the fastest 3G internet connection, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. This device uses a Micro SIM card for GSM connection.
The Tab Active also comes with a few interesting characteristics as Near Field Communication (NFC), Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Localization, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active counts with a big 4450 mAh Li-Polymer battery that provides this tablet an amazing battery duration.
Samsung offers this tablet for $ 370, which is very expensive for comparing with similar tablets. No matter if you are looking for a gamer tablet, want a device mostly for internet broswing and social networks, are a photography fan or want this portable tablet for work, this tablet is definitely a good choice for you.
