Apple iPad mini 3 Review

Apple iPad mini 3 is a very high-end tablet device launched many years ago, having an extremely fast 1300 MHz Dual-Core CPU, a big 7.9-inches touch-screen, and two cameras, a 5 MP back side camera and a 1.2 MP front facing camera. But it's time to get into more details.

Apple didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 11.68 ounces tablet. This device is for sale in two colors, gray and gold. Even though the iPad mini 3 is only 7.87" long, it is able to fit a a 7.9" display. This tablet is extremely slim and comfortable, with a thickness of just 0.3". Regarding its materials, this tablet is mainly built with Aluminium, which gives it a quality look and a better resistance.

This tablet includes a completely amazing 7.9 inches screen with a 1536 x 2048 resolution, giving this device a great graphical experience. Its screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

Apple decided to design the Apple iPad mini 3 using a Apple A7 system chip, which holds a high speed 64-bit Dual-Core processor speeding at 1.3 GHz with only 1 GB RAM memory which is a little bit low for such a powerful tablet. To help with graphic intensive tasks, the iPad mini 3 also counts with a 600 megahertz PowerVR G6430 graphic processing unit. The iPad mini 3 counts with a huge 128 GB internal storage memory and although it doesn't count with a slot for SD memory cards, it is still enough to install tons of applications, games, photos and videos without thinking about filling it.

The iPad mini 3 includes wi-fi capability (which can be shared with other devices acting as a mobile hotspot), 4G LTE high performance data connection and the fastest 3G data connection, over HSPA, EV-DO A, EV-DO B and EDGE technologies. This tablet uses a Nano SIM card to connect to GSM networks.

This device has two cameras, a 5 MP back-facing camera and a 1.2 megapixels front-facing camera. It is also able to film videos in Full HD 1920x1080 at 30 fps. Additionally, this tablet's camera also has multiple great features like digital image stabilization, auto-focus, face detection shooting, time lapse video, HDR mode and geo tagging.

This tablet counts with a 6350 mAh big non-removable battery that can keep this tablet running for many hours without having to charge it. An issue to evaluate is that the iPad mini 3's battery is non-removable so you can't throw it away and buy a new one when it begins to lose its charge, while having 6350 mAh you will probably discard this tablet before it becomes an issue.

This tablet also comes with a few nice features such as Fingerprint Scanner, Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Localization, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

The Apple iPad mini 3 might be a little overpriced considering it costs 360 dollars, and other similar devices are quite cheaper than that. This device is probably a great choice for you if you you love taking photographs, need a tablet for work, are looking for a tablet to mainly use social networks or want a gaming portable tablet.
