The Sony Xperia Tablet Z is much better than Asus VivoTab, getting a overall score of 68.5 against 57.5. Sony Xperia Tablet Z comes with Android 4.4.4 OS, while Asus VivoTab counts with Windows 8 OS. Sony Xperia Tablet Z's design is notably lighter and incredibly thinner than Asus VivoTab, even though they were released only 8 months apart.

The Asus VivoTab features a little bit better performance than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has an inferior number of cores , and they both have 2 GB of RAM, the Asus VivoTab also counts with a faster GPU running at 533 megahertz. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a way better looking screen than Asus VivoTab, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a way higher resolution of 1200 x 1920 and a way better display pixels density.

The Xperia Tablet Z captures a bit better pictures and videos than Asus VivoTab, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Xperia Tablet Z also has a camera in the back with more mega pixels. The Asus VivoTab has a bit bigger storage capacity for apps and games than Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 32 GB more internal memory capacity.

Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a much longer battery performance than Asus VivoTab.

Although Sony Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Asus VivoTab, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Asus VivoTab. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia Tablet Z, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Asus VivoTab, giving up some features and specifications.
