Xperia Tablet Z has a global score of 68.5, which is much better than the Asus VivoTab Smart's 58.7 overall score. Xperia Tablet Z comes with Android 4.4.4 operating system, while Asus VivoTab Smart counts with Windows 8 operating system. The Xperia Tablet Z is a way thinner and lighter tablet device than Asus VivoTab Smart.
The Sony Xperia Tablet Z counts with a much better looking display than Asus VivoTab Smart, and although they both have a screen of the same size, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z also has a greater screen pixels density and a much better 1200 x 1920 pixels resolution. The Asus VivoTab Smart counts with just a little better hardware performance than Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has less CPU cores (although faster), and they both have a 2 GB RAM, the Asus VivoTab Smart also counts with a faster 533 MHz GPU.
Asus VivoTab Smart counts with just a bit more memory capacity for apps and games than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with more internal memory capacity. The Asus VivoTab Smart takes better pictures and videos than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, although it has a lower video quality and a lower resolution back facing camera.
The Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a much better battery lifetime than Asus VivoTab Smart.
Although Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Asus VivoTab Smart, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Asus VivoTab Smart. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy Xperia Tablet Z, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Asus VivoTab Smart, resigning a couple specifications.
