The Xperia Tablet Z has a score of 68.5, which is better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1)'s global score of 61.4. The Xperia Tablet Z is a newer tablet, and it's also lighter and thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1). Both of these tablets use Android operating system, but Xperia Tablet Z has newer 4.4.4 version and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has Android 4.1 version, giving you some nice extra features.

Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a better processing power than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has a greater number of cores, a greater amount of RAM memory and an extra graphics processor. Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a much more vibrant display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and although they both have a same size display, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z also has a lot greater pixel density and a lot better 1200 x 1920 resolution.

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z takes slightly better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has a much better 1920x1080 video definition and a much higher resolution back-facing camera. The Xperia Tablet Z features a much greater memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and although they both have a slot for external memory cards that allows up to 64 GB, the Xperia Tablet Z also has 24 GB more internal storage.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has longer battery life than Xperia Tablet Z, because it has a 7000mAh battery size.

Sony Xperia Tablet Z is a lot more expensive than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), but you can get a better tablet for that extra dollars.
