Sony Xperia Tablet Z is a little bit better than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), having a general score of 68.5 against 68.3. Both of these devices work with Android OS (Operating System), but the Sony Xperia Tablet Z has older 4.4.4 version while Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has Android 8.1 Oreo. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z is an a lot older and heavier tablet device than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), but Sony managed to make it a lot thinner anyway.

The Xperia Tablet Z counts with a much sharper display than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because it has a much higher 1200 x 1920px resolution, a bigger display and a little higher screen density. Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) features a lot bigger memory for games and applications than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, and although they both have equal 32 GB internal storage capacity, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) also has a SD extension slot that supports up to 400 GB.

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a bit better CPU than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), and although they both have a 2 GB RAM memory and a Quad-Core processor, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z also has an extra graphics processor. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) shoots a lot better photos and videos than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, although it has a lower video definition and a back camera with a lot worse resolution.

The Xperia Tablet Z has better battery life than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because it has a 20 percent more battery capacity.

Although Sony Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018). So if you want that extra features, you can buy Sony Xperia Tablet Z, otherwise you can save some money and buy the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), letting go some specs and features.
