Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet is just a bit better than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), with a global score of 74.7 against 68.3. Both devices in this comparison review include Android OS, but Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet has the previous 5.0 version while Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has Android 8.1 Oreo version. Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet's body is a bit heavier but thinner than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018).

Xperia Z4 Tablet has a much better display than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because it has a much higher resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels, a larger display and way more pixels per inch in the screen. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) features a quite bigger storage to install games and applications than Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, and although they both have exactly the same 32 GB internal storage, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) also has a slot for external memory cards that admits a maximum of 400 GB.
