Both devices in this review come with Android OS (Operating System), but the Xperia Z4 Tablet has an older 5.0 version while Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Xperia Z4 Tablet's construction is much thinner but somewhat heavier than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD.
The Xperia Z4 Tablet has a better hardware performance than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, and although they both have the same number of cores and the same RAM memory amount, the Xperia Z4 Tablet also has an additional graphics co-processor and a 64 bits processor. Xperia Z4 Tablet features a more vivid display than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, because it has a larger display, a better 1600 x 2560 resolution and a quite better count of pixels per inch in the screen.
The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has a much better camera than Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, although it has a lower video quality and a camera in the back with a lower 8 megapixels resolution. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, else you can save some dollars and get the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, letting go a couple specifications.
