Comparison review
Microsoft Surface Pro 2 is much better than the Toshiba Encore, getting a general score of 65.1 against 56.2. Even being the best in this comparison review, Microsoft Surface Pro 2's design is notably thicker and much heavier than the Toshiba Encore. These tablets work with Windows operating system, but the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 has 8.1 Pro version and Toshiba Encore has Windows 8.1.
Toshiba Encore features a little bit better performance than Microsoft Surface Pro 2, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, it also counts with a higher number of faster cores. The Toshiba Encore features a little bit better display than Microsoft Surface Pro 2, although it has a really smaller display, a lot lower resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels and a bit worse pixel density.
Microsoft Surface Pro 2 has a very superior memory to store more apps and games than Toshiba Encore, because although it has no external SD slot, it also counts with 480 GB more internal storage. Microsoft Surface Pro 2 features a battery lifetime that is just as good as the battery lifetime in Toshiba Encore.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 2 costs more money than Toshiba Encore, but it's still a good choice, because you can get a much better tablet for that extra money.
