Comparison review
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a lot better than Toshiba Excite 7.7, getting a 66.3 score against 53.1. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9's body has the same thickness than Toshiba Excite 7.7, but it is a little heavier. Both of these tablets include Android OS, but Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has 4.4 version and Toshiba Excite 7.7 has Android 4.0, giving you a lot of extra features.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a much better display than Toshiba Excite 7.7, because it has way more pixels per inch of screen, a bigger display and a lot higher 1600 x 2560 resolution. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has just a bit better performance than Toshiba Excite 7.7, and although they both have a Quad-Core CPU, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also has more RAM memory.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 captures better videos and photos than Toshiba Excite 7.7, because it has a back-facing camera with much more megapixels and a much higher 1920x1080 video definition. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a way bigger memory capacity to store more apps and games than Toshiba Excite 7.7, because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with 32 GB internal memory capacity.
The Toshiba Excite 7.7 and the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 both feature incredibly similar batteries.
Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a bit more expensive than Toshiba Excite 7.7, but you can get a much better tablet for that extra dollars.
