Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 has an overall score of 64.9, which is better than the Toshiba Excite 7.7's 54.2 global score. Although the Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 is thicker than Toshiba Excite 7.7, it's a bit lighter and also a lot newer. These tablets include Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 has a newer 5.1 Lollipop version and Toshiba Excite 7.7 has Android 4.0.
The Toshiba Excite 7.7 counts with a much better display than Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0, because although it has a bit smaller display and a bit lower 720 x 1280 resolution, it also counts with a quite higher screen pixels density. The Galaxy Tab E 8.0 counts with more storage capacity for games and applications than Toshiba Excite 7.7, although it has less internal memory.
The Toshiba Excite 7.7 has a little better hardware performance than Galaxy Tab E 8.0, although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, they both have a Quad-Core processor.
