The Honor MagicPad 2 12.3 is slightly better than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, with a 61.1 score against 57.6. Both tablets in this review come with Android operating system, but the Honor MagicPad 2 12.3 has older 14 version and Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has Android 6.0 Marshmallow version. Honor MagicPad 2 12.3's body is notably newer and extremely thinner than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD's, but it is also extremely heavier.
Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has a way better processing power than Honor MagicPad 2 12.3, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with a higher number of faster cores. The Honor MagicPad 2 12.3 has a better looking display than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, because it has a way larger display, a much better 1920 x 3000 resolution and a bit more pixels per inch of display.
Honor MagicPad 2 12.3 has a very superior storage capacity for games and applications than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with more internal storage capacity. Honor MagicPad 2 12.3 has a really longer battery lifetime than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, because it has a 10050mAh battery size against 5100mAh.
The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD features a little bit better camera than Honor MagicPad 2 12.3, although it has a back facing camera with way less megapixels resolution, they both have a F2 aperture.
Although Honor MagicPad 2 12.3 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can get Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, and give up a couple features, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
