The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is just a bit better than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, getting a 58.1 score against 57.6. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a older, just a bit thicker and extremely heavier tablet than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD. Both tablets we are comparing come with Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has an older 4.0.4 version and Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has a greater hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, because it has a greater number of cores. The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has a bit better looking display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, because although it has a really smaller display, it also counts with a lot higher 1200 x 1920 resolution and a lot higher pixel amount per display inch.
Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD counts with a better memory for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, because although it has only 16 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a SD memory slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB. Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD captures way better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, and although they both have the same video resolution, the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD also has a camera with much more mega-pixels and better 30 fps video frame rates.

So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Galaxy Tab 10.1, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, resigning a couple features and specs.
