Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 is a lot better than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, with a 70 score against 57.6. Both tablets in this review include Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 has the newer 9.0 Pie version and Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has Android 6.0 Marshmallow version. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 is a newer tablet device than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, although it's heavier and much thicker.
The Galaxy Tab Active 2 has a bit better CPU than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD. Both have 3 GB of RAM and the same number of cores. The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD features a much better looking display than Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2, and although they both have a same size display, the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD also has a way higher 1200 x 1920 resolution and more pixels per inch in the display.
Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD captures much better photos and videos than Galaxy Tab Active 2. Both have the same video frame rates, the same 1920x1080 video quality and a same resolution camera. The Galaxy Tab Active 2 has a better memory to store more games and applications than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage, the Galaxy Tab Active 2 also has a SD extension slot that supports a maximum of 256 GB.
Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has a bit better battery performance than Galaxy Tab Active 2, because it has 5100mAh of battery capacity against 4450mAh.
Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 is way more expensive than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, but you can get a much better tablet for that extra dollars.
