The Sony Xperia Tablet S is a bit better than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, having a 58.9 score against 57.6. Despite being the best portable tablet we are comparing here, we must highlight that it's also a much older, extremely heavier and extremely thicker portable tablet. Both of these tablets use Android OS (Operating System), but Sony Xperia Tablet S has an older 4.1.1 version while Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has Android 6.0 Marshmallow version.
Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD features a little bit better screen than Sony Xperia Tablet S, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a way higher pixels number per inch of display and a way better 1200 x 1920px resolution. Xperia Tablet S features a much bigger memory to store more games and applications than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, and although they both have a SD memory slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB, the Xperia Tablet S also has 64 GB internal memory capacity.
The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD counts with a bit faster CPU than Sony Xperia Tablet S, because although it has doesn't have a GPU, it also counts with a greater amount of RAM memory and a higher number of faster cores. Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD takes a lot better photos and videos than Xperia Tablet S. Both have a 8 MP resolution camera in the back.
The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD counts with a much longer battery life than Xperia Tablet S.
Xperia Tablet S costs a little more money than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, but you can get a better tablet for that extra money.
