The iPhone 7 Plus is a little bit better than the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, getting a overall score of 83.8 against 78.1. IPhone 7 Plus's body is somewhat heavier but a little bit thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, and both were only released 6 months apart. The Apple iPhone 7 Plus features a little faster CPU than Galaxy S7 edge, although it has 1 GB less RAM, they both have a Quad-Core CPU.
Galaxy S7 edge and Apple iPhone 7 Plus feature very similar displays, and although the Galaxy S7 edge has a better resolution of 1440 x 2560px and a higher quantity of pixels per inch in the display, they both have a display of the same size. The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge features just a bit better camera than iPhone 7 Plus, and although they both have a camera in the back with a 12 mega-pixels resolution, the same video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge also has a bigger aperture and a bigger back camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors.

The Galaxy S7 edge has superior battery lifetime than iPhone 7 Plus, because it has 3600mAh of battery capacity.
Although iPhone 7 Plus is a better device, it is way more expensive than Galaxy S7 edge, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Galaxy S7 edge. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can buy the Galaxy S7 edge, giving up a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
