IPhone 8 has an overall score of 85, which is slightly better than the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium's 79.8 general score. IPhone 8 is a newer phone, and it is also lighter and a little thinner than the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium features a much better looking display than Apple iPhone 8, because it has a lot better pixels amount per inch in the display, a larger screen and a much better 3840 x 2160 resolution.
Apple iPhone 8 counts with a bit more powerful processor than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, 2 lesser cpu cores (although faster) and doesn't have an extra GPU, it also counts with a 64-bit processing unit. Xperia Z5 Premium features just a bit better camera than iPhone 8, because although it has slower 30 frames per second video frame rate, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and a F1.8 aperture, the Xperia Z5 Premium also counts with a lot bigger back-facing camera sensor and a camera with much more MP.
The iPhone 8 has a superior memory capacity for applications and games than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with 256 GB internal memory capacity. The Xperia Z5 Premium has a superior battery performance than Apple iPhone 8, because it has a 3430mAh battery capacity.
Although iPhone 8 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Xperia Z5 Premium, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xperia Z5 Premium. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can get Xperia Z5 Premium, and give up a few features and specs, but you will get the most out of your savings.
