The iPhone XS Max has a global score of 84.5, which is slightly better than Galaxy S5 Sport's 77.8 global score. Although iPhone XS Max is a lot heavier than the Galaxy S5 Sport, it's somewhat thinner and also extremely newer. The Galaxy S5 Sport has just a bit better display than iPhone XS Max, although it has a lot worse 1920 x 1080 resolution, a little lower pixel number per inch in the display and a lot smaller screen.
The iPhone XS Max counts with more storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport, because although it has no slot for an SD memory card, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage. The Apple iPhone XS Max counts with a bit better performance than Galaxy S5 Sport, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit, it also counts with a higher amount of RAM memory, more processing cores and a 64-bits processing unit.
The Apple iPhone XS Max has just a bit better battery duration than Galaxy S5 Sport, because it has a 3179mAh battery size. Apple iPhone XS Max shoots clearer pictures and videos than Galaxy S5 Sport, because although it has a camera in the back with a way lower resolution and a lower (4K) video definition, it also counts with a bigger diafragm aperture for better photography in poorly lited situations and a larger back-facing camera sensor which provides a higher image and video quality.
Although iPhone XS Max is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Galaxy S5 Sport, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Galaxy S5 Sport. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy iPhone XS Max, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Galaxy S5 Sport, giving up a couple specifications.
