Even though Galaxy A42 is notably older than the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro, it's construction is somewhat lighter and a little thinner.
The Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro counts with a much sharper display than Galaxy A42, because it has a little larger display, a better pixel density and a much better 1080 x 2400 resolution. Galaxy A42 counts with a very superior processing power than Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro, although it has a smaller amount of RAM, they both have a Octa-Core processing unit.
The Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro counts with a bigger memory to install games and applications than Galaxy A42, because although it has no slot for an SD memory card, it also counts with 384 GB more internal memory. Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro features just a bit better battery life than Galaxy A42, because it has a 5500mAh battery capacity against 5000mAh.
The Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro counts with a superior camera than Galaxy A42, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not favorable for capturing photos and/or video in low light situations, it also counts with a lot better 7680x4320 video resolution and a back-facing camera with a better resolution.
