Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro has a global score of 84.2, which is slightly better than the Xperia XZ2 Compact's 79 general score. These devices use Android operating system, but Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro has an older 14 version and Xperia XZ2 Compact has Android 8.0 Oreo version. Even though the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro is a lot heavier than the Xperia XZ2 Compact, it's a lot thinner and also notably newer.
Xperia XZ2 Compact counts with a much better performing CPU than Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro, although it has 12 GB less RAM, they both have 8 cpu cores. Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro takes much better videos and photos than Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has a way larger sensor which provides a way higher image and video quality, a way better 7680x4320 video quality, a bigger camera aperture and a lot more mega-pixels camera.
