Galaxy A8 Star has a global score of 82.1, which is slightly better than the Asus ROG Phone 8's general score of 79.5. Both of these phones have Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy A8 Star has a newer 9.0 Pie version and Asus ROG Phone 8 has Android 14 version, giving lots of additional features and a performance increase. Galaxy A8 Star is an noticeably older cellphone than the Asus ROG Phone 8, but it is somewhat lighter and thinner anyway.
Asus ROG Phone 8 counts with a sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a quite inferior quantity of pixels per inch of display, it also counts with a quite larger screen and a slightly better resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The Asus ROG Phone 8 features a better memory capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has no slot for an external memory card, it also counts with more internal memory.
The Galaxy A8 Star has a much greater hardware performance than Asus ROG Phone 8, although it has a lower amount of RAM, they both have a Octa-Core processing unit. Asus ROG Phone 8 takes a lot better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not good for taking photographs or videos in poorly lited environments, it also counts with a lot higher resolution back facing camera, a much higher 7680x4320 video resolution and a lot bigger back-facing camera sensor.
