Comparison review
Asus ZenFone AR is just a bit better than Asus ZenFone 4 Pro, with a global score of 77.4 against 75.5. Even though Asus ZenFone AR and the Asus ZenFone 4 Pro were released only 3 months apart, the Asus ZenFone AR body is just a little lighter but somewhat thicker. Asus ZenFone AR counts with a little sharper screen than Asus ZenFone 4 Pro, because it has a greater pixel count in each screen inch, a little bit bigger display and a higher resolution of 1440 x 2560.
Asus ZenFone AR features a better memory to install games and applications than Asus ZenFone 4 Pro, and although they both have an external memory slot that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB, the Asus ZenFone AR also has 64 GB more internal storage capacity. Asus ZenFone 4 Pro features a bit better hardware performance than Asus ZenFone AR, and although they both have 6 GB of RAM, the Asus ZenFone 4 Pro also has a larger number of cores.
The Asus ZenFone 4 Pro has just a bit longer battery duration than Asus ZenFone AR, because it has a 3600mAh battery size. Asus ZenFone AR captures slightly better videos and photos than Asus ZenFone 4 Pro, because although it has a tinier sensor which gives a worse photo and video quality, a tinier aperture which is not so good for taking photos and videos in low-light environments and lower 24 fps video frame rate, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the Asus ZenFone AR also counts with a much better resolution back facing camera.
