Both of these phones have Android OS (Operating System), but Asus ZenFone 8 has the older 11 version and Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has Android 9.0 Pie version. Asus ZenFone 8's construction is noticeably newer and somewhat lighter, but thicker than the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star.
