The Xperia XZ1 is slightly better than the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2), getting a general score of 78.3 against 77.4. Although Xperia XZ1 is older than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2), it's body is lighter and somewhat thinner. Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) has just a bit better looking screen than Sony Xperia XZ1, because although it has a bit less pixels per inch of display, it also counts with a bigger screen and a slightly higher 1080 x 2280 resolution.

Xperia XZ1 counts with a slightly better camera than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2), because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution and the same video frame rates, the Xperia XZ1 also counts with a way bigger sensor which offers a way better photo and video quality and a back-facing camera with a much higher 19 mega pixels resolution.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) has a much better battery performance than Xperia XZ1, because it has an 85% bigger battery size.
