The Huawei Mate 8 has a general score of 77.4, which is a little bit better than the Google Nexus 5's 76 general score. Huawei Mate 8's design is notably newer and just a little bit thinner than Google Nexus 5's, but it's a lot heavier. Huawei Mate 8's processing unit is just as good as the processing unit in Google Nexus 5, because although the Huawei Mate 8 has doesn't have an extra graphics co-processor, it also counts with 2 GB more RAM memory and 4 more cores.
Google Nexus 5 counts with a more vivid screen than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has a little smaller screen, and they both have the same 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, the Google Nexus 5 also counts with a bit higher display density. The Huawei Mate 8 has a much better memory to install games and applications than Google Nexus 5, because it has 128 GB internal memory capacity and a slot for an SD memory card that supports a maximum of 128 GB.
Huawei Mate 8 counts with a much longer battery duration than Google Nexus 5, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity against 2300mAh. The Huawei Mate 8 takes much better pictures and videos than Google Nexus 5, and although they both have the same video quality, the Huawei Mate 8 also has a bigger aperture, higher video frame rate and a way more mega-pixels camera in the back.
Although Huawei Mate 8 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Google Nexus 5, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Google Nexus 5. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Huawei Mate 8, otherwise you can save some money and get the Google Nexus 5, letting go a couple features and specs.
