Google Pixel XL has a global score of 81.3, which is slightly better than the Google Pixel 3 XL's overall score of 80.7. Google Pixel XL is an older and just a bit thicker phone than the Google Pixel 3 XL, but Google managed to make it a little lighter anyway. The Google Pixel 3 XL counts with a bit better screen than Google Pixel XL, because although it has a quite lower pixel count in each inch of screen, it also counts with a slightly higher 1440 x 2960px resolution and a bit larger display.
The Google Pixel 3 XL has just a little better processing power than Google Pixel XL, and although they both have the same RAM memory amount, the Google Pixel 3 XL also has 4 more processing cores. The Google Pixel XL has a much greater storage for games and applications than Google Pixel 3 XL, because it has 128 GB internal storage.
Google Pixel XL and Google Pixel 3 XL have similar battery durations, although the Google Pixel XL also has a 1 percent greater battery capacity. The Google Pixel XL's camera is very similar to the camera in Google Pixel 3 XL, because although the Google Pixel XL has a tinier aperture, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same (4K) video quality, it also counts with a larger sensor and a more MP back-facing camera.
Although Google Pixel XL is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Google Pixel 3 XL, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Google Pixel 3 XL. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy the Google Pixel 3 XL, and give up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
