Galaxy S6 edge+ is just a bit better than HTC One M9, having a 79.3 score against 77.7. Even though Galaxy S6 edge+ and the HTC One M9 were released only 5 months apart, Galaxy S6 edge+ is way thinner and a bit lighter. Both of these phones use Android operating system, but the Galaxy S6 edge+ has a more recent 5.1 version while HTC One M9 has Android 5.0 version.
HTC One M9 features a quite better processing power than Galaxy S6 edge+, because although it has 1 GB less RAM, it also counts with a higher number of cores (although slower), an additional graphics co-processor and a 64-bits processing unit. The Galaxy S6 edge+ has a bit more vivid screen than HTC One M9, because it has a higher 2560 x 1440 resolution, a just a little better pixels number per inch of screen and a little bit larger screen.
HTC One M9 counts with just a bit better camera than Galaxy S6 edge+, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not nice for low light photography and video, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the HTC One M9 also counts with a camera in the back with a higher resolution and a larger back-facing camera sensor taking higher quality photos and videos.
The HTC One M9 features a bit bigger memory for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, because although it has only 32 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a slot for an SD memory card that admits up to 128 GB. The Galaxy S6 edge+ counts with a bit longer battery lifetime than HTC One M9, because it has a 3000mAh battery size instead of 2840mAh.
Although Galaxy S6 edge+ is a better device, it costs a lot more than the HTC One M9, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the HTC One M9. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy HTC One M9, and give up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your money.
