Sony Xperia 5 is better than the HTC U Play, with an 81 score against 73.5. Although the Sony Xperia 5 is incredibly newer than HTC U Play, it is somewhat heavier and a little thicker. The Sony Xperia 5 counts with a bit more vivid display than HTC U Play, because it has a bit greater pixel density, a bigger screen and a quite better 1080 x 2520 resolution.

Sony Xperia 5 features more memory capacity to store more apps and games than HTC U Play, because although it has a slot for an external memory card that holds 1,45 TB smaller, it also counts with 96 GB more internal memory capacity. The Xperia 5 has a little better hardware performance than HTC U Play, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 5 also has a higher amount of RAM memory.

Xperia 5 counts with improved battery duration than HTC U Play, because it has 3140mAh of battery capacity against 2500mAh. The Xperia 5 has a little bit better camera than HTC U Play, because although it has a lot less mega pixels resolution back-facing camera, it also counts with a much better 3840x2160 (4K) video quality and a larger aperture for better low light photography and videos.

Although Xperia 5 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the HTC U Play, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the HTC U Play. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Xperia 5, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the HTC U Play, resigning a couple features and specifications.
