The Galaxy M31 has a general score of 86.5, which is much better than HTC U Ultra's 77 general score. The Galaxy M31 construction is incredibly newer than HTC U Ultra's, but it is thicker and heavier. Galaxy M31 features just a bit better processing power than HTC U Ultra, because it has 4 more cpu cores and more RAM memory.
HTC U Ultra features a little sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy M31, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a higher display pixels density and a higher 1440 x 2560 resolution. Galaxy M31 has a much better camera than HTC U Ultra, and although they both have a same size diafragm aperture, the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the Galaxy M31 also has a back camera with much more MP and a much larger sensor capturing more light and vivid colors.
The HTC U Ultra has a much greater storage capacity to store more apps and games than Galaxy M31, and although they both have the same internal storage capacity, the HTC U Ultra also has a slot for external memory cards that allows up to 1,95 TB. Galaxy M31 features a really longer battery performance than HTC U Ultra, because it has 6000mAh of battery capacity.
