Comparison review
The Apple iPhone 8 has a general score of 85, which is a bit better than Huawei Mate 20's 79.5 score. The Apple iPhone 8 is an older cellphone than Huawei Mate 20, but it is thinner and notably lighter anyway. The iPhone 8 has a little better hardware performance than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has lesser RAM memory and lesser and slower cpu cores, it also counts with a 64-bits processor.
The Huawei Mate 20 has a bit better screen than iPhone 8, because it has a little bit better pixel density, a lot bigger display, more brightness and a way better resolution of 1080 x 2244 pixels. The iPhone 8 features a very superior memory for applications and games than Huawei Mate 20, because it has 256 GB internal storage capacity.
Huawei Mate 20 features a really longer battery duration than iPhone 8, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity instead of 1821mAh. IPhone 8 captures just a bit better photographs and videos than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has a lot tinier camera sensor, and they both have a camera in the back with a 12 mega pixels resolution, the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and the same aperture, the iPhone 8 also counts with better 60 frames per second video frame rate.
Although Apple iPhone 8 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Huawei Mate 20, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Huawei Mate 20. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get Huawei Mate 20, and give up a couple features, but you will get the most out of your savings.
