Comparison review
Sony Xperia XZ3 is a little bit better than Huawei Mate 20, with a 79.6 score against 79.5. Despite being the best device in this comparison, we must highlight that it's also a just a bit heavier and thicker device. These phones include the same Android 9.0 Pie OS (Operating System), so you shouldn't notice any differences in that aspect.
The Xperia XZ3 has just a little better hardware performance than Huawei Mate 20. Both of them have a 4 GB RAM and the same number of cores. The Xperia XZ3 has a slightly better screen than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has way less brightness and a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a higher 1440 x 2880 resolution and a greater display density.
Xperia XZ3 counts with a greater memory to install games and applications than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has only 64 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a SD card slot that admits a maximum of 512 GB. Huawei Mate 20 features greater battery duration than Xperia XZ3, because it has a 4000mAh battery size against 3330mAh.
Xperia XZ3 has just a bit better camera than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not good for low light photos and video, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates, the same camera sensor size and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Xperia XZ3 also counts with a much more MP back camera.
Although Sony Xperia XZ3 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Huawei Mate 20, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Huawei Mate 20. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia XZ3, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Huawei Mate 20, letting go some features and specs.
