The Huawei Mate 40 Pro has a general score of 90.9, which is much better than the Huawei P20's 78.1 global score. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro design is noticeably newer than Huawei P20's, but it is somewhat thicker and noticeably heavier. Both phones in this review include Android operating system, but Huawei Mate 40 Pro has an older 10 version and Huawei P20 has Android 9.0 Pie version.
Huawei Mate 40 Pro features a slightly better looking display than Huawei P20, because it has a better resolution of 1334 x 2772px, a bigger display and a little bit greater display density. Huawei Mate 40 Pro counts with a way bigger storage capacity to store more apps and games than Huawei P20, because it has more internal memory capacity.
Huawei Mate 40 Pro features a little faster CPU than Huawei P20, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro also has 4 GB more RAM memory. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro has greater battery life than Huawei P20, because it has 4400mAh of battery capacity against 3400mAh. Huawei Mate 40 Pro takes way better videos and photos than Huawei P20, because although it has a smaller aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro also counts with higher video frame rates, a lot bigger sensor taking way higher quality videos and pictures and a camera with way more mega-pixels.
