Huawei Mate 8 has an overall score of 77.4, which is just a bit better than the Xiaomi Mi 5s's global score of 76.4. Huawei Mate 8 is an older and incredibly heavier phone than Xiaomi Mi 5s, but Huawei made it a little thinner anyway. Huawei Mate 8 has just a little better performance than Xiaomi Mi 5s, and although they both have a 4 GB RAM memory, the Huawei Mate 8 also has a higher number of cores (but slower).
Xiaomi Mi 5s features a sharper screen than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has a quite smaller display, and they both have an equal 1080 x 1920 resolution, the Xiaomi Mi 5s also counts with a little bit higher pixels density. The Xiaomi Mi 5s captures a little bit better pictures and videos than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has a camera with a lot lower 12 mega pixels resolution, and they both have a same size diafragm aperture, the Xiaomi Mi 5s also counts with a lot higher 3840x2160 (4K) video quality.
The Huawei Mate 8 counts with a lot bigger storage to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Mi 5s, and although they both have the same 128 GB internal memory, the Huawei Mate 8 also has an external SD slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB. Huawei Mate 8 features better battery duration than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because it has a 25 percent larger battery size.
Although Huawei Mate 8 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Xiaomi Mi 5s, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Xiaomi Mi 5s. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Huawei Mate 8, otherwise you can save some dollars and get the Xiaomi Mi 5s, giving up some features and specifications.
