The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a little more vivid display than Google Pixel XL. Both have exactly the same resolution of 1440 x 2560px, a screen of the same size and the same display density.
The Google Pixel XL's storage to store more apps and games is very similar to the Huawei Mate 9 Pro one, both have equal 128 GB internal memory capacity. Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a little better performance than Google Pixel XL, because it has a higher number of cores and a larger amount of RAM.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a bit longer battery duration than Google Pixel XL, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity. The Google Pixel XL counts with a bit better camera than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution and the same 30 frames per second video frame rates, the Google Pixel XL also has a much bigger sensor capturing lot higher quality pictures and videos, a camera with a higher resolution and a bigger diafragm aperture to take better low-light photography.
The Google Pixel XL costs a little more than the Huawei Mate 9 Pro, but it's still a great choice, as you can get a much better phone for that extra money.
