Comparison review
Xperia XZ3 has an overall score of 79.6, which is just a bit better than the Huawei Mate 9 Pro's score of 78.7. These phones use Android OS (operating system), but the Xperia XZ3 has the newer 9.0 Pie version while Huawei Mate 9 Pro has Android 8.0 Oreo version, so it offers a couple nice extra features and some performance improvements. Although the Xperia XZ3 is newer than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, it is thicker and somewhat heavier.
Sony Xperia XZ3 has a bit better CPU than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores. Sony Xperia XZ3 has a slightly better screen than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because it has a bit greater display pixels density, a slightly higher 1440 x 2880 resolution and a little larger screen.
The Xperia XZ3 counts with a greater storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because although it has 0 less internal memory, it also counts with a SD memory card expansion slot that allows a maximum of 512 GB. Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with superior battery duration than Xperia XZ3, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3330mAh.
The Sony Xperia XZ3 shoots slightly better videos and photos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same video definition and the same video frame rate, the Sony Xperia XZ3 also has a lot larger sensor taking more light and vivid colors, a bigger camera aperture to capture better photos and video in low light environments and a back camera with lot more megapixels.
Although Sony Xperia XZ3 is a better device, it costs more money than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Huawei Mate 9 Pro. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and give up a couple features and specs, but you will get the most out of your budget.
