Comparison review
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a score of 78.7, which is just a bit better than Xiaomi Mi 5s's 76.4 score. Both of these devices have Android OS, but Huawei Mate 9 Pro has the newer 8.0 Oreo version while Xiaomi Mi 5s has Android 6.0 Marshmallow version, so it gives some extra features and performance tweaks. Even though Huawei Mate 9 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 5s were only released 3 months apart, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro body is just a little thinner but also somewhat heavier than Xiaomi Mi 5s.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a bit more powerful CPU than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because it has 4 more cores and 2 GB more RAM memory. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi 5s feature similar screens, although the Xiaomi Mi 5s has a just a bit worse display pixels density, a way worse 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and a little bit smaller screen.
Xiaomi Mi 5s captures slightly better pictures and videos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the same video frame rate and a 12 megapixels resolution camera in the back, the Xiaomi Mi 5s also has a larger camera aperture to take better low-light images and videos and a much bigger back camera sensor providing a lot higher image quality.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s has as much storage for games and applications as the Huawei Mate 9 Pro, both have exactly the same 128 GB internal memory. Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with superior battery lifetime than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because it has a 25 percent larger battery capacity.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Xiaomi Mi 5s, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xiaomi Mi 5s. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Huawei Mate 9 Pro, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Xiaomi Mi 5s, letting go a couple specifications.
