Comparison review
The Huawei P20 has a score of 78.1, which is a little bit better than Huawei Mate 9's 73.4 global score. Huawei P20 is a newer phone, and it's also somewhat lighter and just a little bit thinner than Huawei Mate 9. Huawei Mate 9 features just a little better performance than Huawei P20. Both have 8 cores and the same RAM amount.
Huawei P20 has a little bit better display than Huawei Mate 9, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a just a bit higher count of pixels in each inch of screen and a bit higher 1080 x 2244 resolution. Huawei P20 captures greater photos and videos than Huawei Mate 9, and although they both have a camera in the back with a 12 MP resolution, the same (4K) video resolution and the same video frame rates, the Huawei P20 also has a much bigger camera sensor which provides a lot higher photo and video quality and a larger camera aperture to capture better low light photography and video.
